Season one of "Boomtown" (18 episodes) hit DVD on July 20. The multiple perspectives made for unusually sophisticated TV, until the suits at NBC ordered it dumbed down midway through the year. The discs are correctly letterboxed, but the sound mix is simple surround. (If you have a region-free player, the U.K. edition is the way to go, since it features Dolby 5.1. Also, it's been available since last November.) Early episodes were shot by Denis Lenoir, a talented French cameraman, and looked as distinctive as the medium allows. (Check out Olivier Assayas' "demonlover" for another example of Lenoir's work.)

This series was highly recommended to me, and my dvds just arrived in the mail. I will be starting it soon, although I suspect that, if I like it, I will be so sad when I am done and there are no more.

Six episodes of "Boomtown" were produced in season two. It was cancelled almost immediately, and the unaired ones were eventually broadcast. I believe these are scheduled for DVD as well.
There's also a CC connection. Laurie Arent, "Boomtown" story editor and author of two scripts, wrote "Maternal Instincts," episode no. 21 of _our_ show. Hopefully she'll do more.
