It's summer time and that means reruns. How exciting is that? Whoo-hoo!
Joking aside, there are some new programs out there this summer and I was wondering if anyone was gonna watch them, and if so which ones? For me, I'm gonna watch Reno 911 and that show called "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (or something like that). That show has former big musicial stars looking to restart their careers. Supposely Loverboy, The Knack, Sophie B. Hawkins, A Flock of Seagulls, Vanilla Ice, Irene Cara, and Tiffany. There might be a few more stars but I can't remember them at this moment.
I personally want to see Loverboy (will they be in those tight, red leather pants?), The Knack (I hope they sing "My Sharona", that song rocked!), A Flock of Seaguls (I love this group and I hope Mike Score will have that famous hairdo of his), and Sophie B. Hawkins.
Oh, I forgot Tommy Tutone will be on there. I liked that song "867-5309/Jenny", and I 'll have to say that it's pretty bad that I know that phone number better than my own. LOL!
As for Vanilla Ice....gag me with a spoon, and for Tiffany...well, I guess posing for Playboy didn't help restart her career.

Tracylynn - it's unfortunate that they burdened that show with such a horrible name. I think people instantly go to Britney Spears and tune out the rest (especially since the ads are coinciding with her "reality" show). The show actually sounds funny, and I might find myself tuning in once or twice. It would be pretty fun to see some of those 80s groups again. The only show that I'm planning on catching faithfully is "The 4400". I was blown away by this series last summer, and I can't wait for its return next weekend. I would also like to catch the limited run TNT series "Into The West", as I've always been a fan of westerns. Other than those two, I'm not sure. I just got a membership to Netflix. so I'll probably rent a lot of movies and television shows too.

I don't watch too much TV in the summer but one show I can't miss is Six Feet Under. This is the 5th and final season which premiere's June 6th. The only other show I may check out is Ashton Kutcher's reality show, "Beauty and the Geek," which he is producing. The word I've been hearing is that it's got both comedy and heart, not a combination you always find with reality TV.

Well, I watched "Hell's Kitchen" and I have to say that that show wasn't that bad, and to be honest, it was funny. That weren't joking when they said that Gordan Ramsay really does make Simon Cowell look like a kitty cat. I loved it when he called that guy Blueberry instead of Dewberry (that's the guy's actual name).

Did you watch Hit Me Baby One More Time Tracylynn? I tuned in, and it was hysterical to see these acts again. I couldn't get over how much Loverboy and A Flock of Seagulls changed! I thought that Tiffany's redition of Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" was just horrible. Arrested Development did a nice job with "Heaven" because they "really made it their own" (to quote Simon Cowell). Funny show, and perfect for the summer.

I did watch it and I have to say that I thought it was a pretty good show, but it does need some fixing up.
First of all, the host has got to go. He really didn't have a personality that would go over well with us. I'm not sure if he's the host of the British version of this show or not but if he is then they can keep him. Secondly, he looked like a freak. How freaking tall was that guy? The artists looked like dwarfs when they stood beside him.
I do think they should allow the viewers to vote because that would be so interesting.
I have to say that I was surprised when I saw Loverboy. Mike Reno looked like the Staypuff Marshmellow Man, but he didn't sound all that bad. Loverboy's version of "Hero" wasn't that bad. I actually liked it.
A Flock of Seagulls...well, I was disappointed to see only one original member there and then he didn't even have the hair. What a bummer! They didn't sound bad but they didn't sound all that great either. I thought they sounded better when they did the song by Ryan C.
CeCe P....well, she was okay. Her version of "There You'll Be" was not good. The arrangement was not good at all and I think that hurt her.
Tiffany...well, she needs to get a refund back from the doctor who did her boob job. She was so so.
Arrested Development....I liked them and I thought their version of "Heaven" was good. I agree that they made that song their own and I think that's why they won. The song was so different that one would not even know that it was the song by Los Lonely Boys. I actually liked their version over the version by the Los Lonely Boys.
One more thing....I liked how the prize is a donation to the charity of their choice and how the artists were treated with respect. They were not treated as "has beens" and that was good.

I'm going to watch it tonight again. Tonight is Sophie B. Hawkins, Wang Chung, Irene Cara, Howard Jones and Cameo.
I couldn't believe that week Tiffany sang one of Kelly Clarkson's songs. She didn't sound too good. I liked Haddaway.

I thought that last night's show had the best overall performances. It was great to see Howard Jones again (I LOVE his original song). I thought that Cameo did a better job with "1985" than Bowling For Soup (usually that song gets on my nerves, but I really liked their version). Sophie B. Hawkins' jazz redition of Five For Fighting's "100 Years" was different and cool. I really like seeing where these artists are now.
Also, I just read that NBC decided to extent the season (last night would have been the last), so there are more coming. I wonder who we'll get to see in the coming weeks!

Wasn't last night only the third show? It was kinda questionable. But the audience is really into it. I did catch two band names up for next week: Greg Kihn Band and Glass Tiger.
If Laura Brannigan had lived she would have been included I bet.
There are so many bands they could get:
The Cars The Outfield Yaz OMD Depeche Mode Pet Shop Boys Dexy's Midnight Runners Wall of Voodoo Haircut One Hundred Split Enz aka Crowded House Thompson Twins Human League Animotion Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam Shannon Quarterflash Big Country Icehouse ABC Naked Eyes Foreigner Journey Alda Nova Survivor
I thought Cameo did the best. Sophie Hawkins rendition was weird. Wang Chung did good on their current hit too. I was surprised the audience chose Irene Cara, though. The NBC website had Wang Chung as first choice, then Sophie, then Irene.
