Just a month later, Lilly returned to work dispite what the doctors had said. She couldn’t stay home any longer, especially with nothing much to do. As Lilly walked firmly into the warehouse to retrive the case file, thoughts of her mother and that day lingered around inside. She kept in deep down inside, like everything else.
Now reading over the case, Lilly heard footsteps seeing Scotty standing there. ‘ Hey’ they both responded at the same time Scotty smiled at her’ Missed seeing you down here’ moving forward to kiss her on the cheek. Lilly gave her usual smile before trying to bend down and pick up the box, when a sharp pain shot right through her. Biting her lip, Scotty sensed this and picked it up pausing to looking into her blue eyes. By the time the two of them got back upstairs, everyone was happy to see her. ‘ Welcome back Lil’ Kat said ‘ How you feeling’
Lilly being Lilly responded with her usual’ I’m fine’ covering up the pain she was feeling on her right side of her chest where the bullet had entered. As the team reviewed the case trying to figure out where to start, Lilly’s eyes kept on glancing over at the interrogation room then at the door leading to Stillman’s office seeing flashes of him getting shot.
‘ Hey’ as Scotty touched her shoulder gently’ You okay’‘ Yeah, just need some air’ as Lilly went outside breathing in gently. Inside Scotty knew she shouldn’t have come back to work this early but knew from experience; that this was the only place that made Lilly feel at home. A few minutes later she came back in as the two went on their way to interview one of the family members. Along the way the two held hands knowing that they loved each other.
As Scotty interview the man, Lilly caught sight of the little girl standing there. Looking closer that was the same exact child she had been seeing in her dreams. Feeling a cold hand on her shoulder, Lilly turned around looking into Scotty’s warm eyes.
She let out a deep breath’ I need to be here okay’ not feeling a hundred percent herself. Scotty was still very concerned for Lilly and her health he knew she still was feeling depressed. It was showing through at work, how she was handling everything. Now walking along he stopped her. ‘ I know your hurting Lil, I can see it’ he said. Lilly shook her head’ I’m fine Scotty, really’ ‘ Your not, you can’t expect everything to be fine after this’
Lilly looked down for a second feeling the tears welling up but instead kept on walking. She wasn’t about to share her deepest feelings with him. Their case was more important right now, as the two headed back to headquarters. Walking into Stillman’s office, he instructed her to close the door.
‘ How you feeling Boss’ she asked sitting down ‘ Pain still there, you still have stitches Lil’ Lilly nodded feeling it in her back where the bullet had exited.
Stillman then took off his glasses’ I’m going to give you four more weeks off , you can’t be here’ ‘ Boss’ seeing the look on his face’ You’re not well Lil, I can’t tell that. You can expect to walk in here after this, I just don’t want to loose you for good’.
Getting up Stillman touched her hand’ It’s not forever Lil, and it isn’t suspension’
Nodding softly she exited his office walking straight out of the bullpen, past Scotty without saying two words to him. The rest of them look perplexed wondered what had happened in there. Sure enough, there was a small meeting in Stillman’s office among the squad. They knew that Lilly wasn’t ready to come back, the trama was still evident.
By the time she had gotten home and changed, Lilly sat there on her couch reading over more of the case. She wasn’t upset but knew he was right; it was too soon to come back. Nighttime came soon enough as Lilly put on a black dress not wanting to go to her mother’s wake. Feeling the pain again she popped two painkillers into her mouth before leaving the house.
At the church, Scotty noticed that there was none of Lilly’s family there. He knew the only family she did have was a sister that is still running from law. Looking around only the squad and other police were in attendence. After a quick glance at his watch Lilly arrived, looking her usual self.
‘ Hey you okay’ he said taking her hand as they sat down ‘ Yeah’ hoping the painkillers would kick in soon as the preist began to speak about her mother before praying. Lilly closed her eyes hearing her mother’s last words echoing around in her mind; before whispering the prayers softly.
After the preist had spoken, it was Lilly’s turn to go up and see her mother one last time. Walking down the aisle she felt the eery silence cast upon her with every tiny step. At last Lilly came closer to the casket, peering in at her mother seeing how still she was. A single tear streamed down from a sea of blue as her hand held her mother’s now cold hand. Lilly wanted more then anything to hear the sound of her voice again; or tell her how much she loved her. Thinking back, Lilly remembered her last words to her knowing that she did love her; dispite everything. Just as she was beginning to turn away, Lilly looked back at the woman who had given her life.
Breathing in softly, Lilly felt her warm tears streaming down her face keeping her head down before quickly exiting the church. Walking alone in the darkness of the night, she felt so alone and lost like never before. Scotty soon joined her as they walked together down the streets, Lilly remained quiet just breathing in the warm air.
He then took his hand into hers as they walked along the sidewalk before heading back to her house. Just before Lilly opened the front door, Scotty leaned forward and kissed her. She responded too knowing that this was really love and not some mixed up emotion thing.
‘ Stay with me ‘ she whispered holding the door opened for him. By the time they were in bed, Scotty lay there listening to the rain beating down on the window. Lilly was already asleep deep in the same dream over and over again.
This time she found herself in a dark place hearing someone laughing. Turning around George stood there. ‘ Well isn’t this a pretty sight, your pathetic Lilly or should I say Lillian. You should have died but mommy was watching you. The one who sent you out late one night to get her a drink’
Lilly took in a breath but flashes of that one night tasting the crimson blood in her mouth; was evident as she started to scream loudly. Next to her Scotty looked over seeing her fight against something before lying still. He knew something wasn’t right, as Lilly screamed again before waking up.
Upon seeing Scotty, she let him hold her feeling protected and safe. Lilly took in a couple deep breaths feeling his warm kisses; knowing that George couldn’t hurt anymore. He then moved over onto the other side, so Lilly could lay her head down on his chest. Hearing his heartbeat, she began to calm down knowing that things were goingto get better.
Sometime after the two fell asleep, Lilly saw her mother standing there.
‘ Mom’ running over to her
Ellen Rush stood there’ Your partner is in danger’ pointing downward to a trail covered in blood

After her dream had faded, Lilly shot up in bed breathing heavily. Looking over at her partner who was still asleep she then lifted up his shirt only to find that there was no blood in sight. Scotty opened up his eyes hearing how fast she had breathing. He sat up looking into a sea of blue; Lilly didn’t understand what was going on. Was her mother trying to somehow warn her of something yet to happen?
The day went by fast, but the dream was still in Lilly’s mind. She was tried to figure it out but wondered who the little girl was but couldn’t quite figure it out. At dusk, the two were walking together hand in hand as Lilly smiled at Scotty. Tonight was their first date together as a couple; both wanting to play their cards right not wanting another failed relationship since the two were partners.
Putting his arms around Lilly’s waist, Scotty was thankful for everyday that she was alive. ‘Hey’ he said ‘Why so quiet’ ‘I’m fine just thinking that’s all’ Lilly replied kissing his lips Scotty responded by kissing her again before walking along smelling the aroma of food. Out from the corner of Lilly’s eyes she caught the sight of a diamond ring she longed to wear. Everyday she’d pass it yearning to try it on; but got discouraged knowing that it would never be hers; Lilly took in a deep breath and continued walking.
As darkness covered the city like a big blanket, the two strolled through a park. Scotty then pulled her closer as Lilly rested her head on his shoulder. She listened to the crickets chirping loudly before watching the stars shine from up above. In a way Lilly did feel lucky to be alive, especially having someone who always loved her at her side. Maybe this was really the real thing but for now she let Scotty hold her.
Feeling Scotty’s warm kissing on her cheek, Lilly breathed out again running her hand through his hair. ‘I’ m glad you’re here with me’ Lilly nodded ‘I thought I was going to die that day’ Scotty was nearly crying again as he too saw flashes of her lying there bleeding, in fact he started to. He continued to hold her feeling her lips plant a kiss on his neck.
‘You mean so much to me Lil’ he said choking down the tears. Lilly then lifted her head up gazing into his eyes’ I never seen you cry Scotty’ as they paused to looking into each other’s eyes. Coming closer their lips met while their hands were wrapped around each other. It was more of a romantic one, that was very slow but enough to have both of their hearts beating faster.
Breaking apart, Lilly leaned in for one more needing this badly. ‘Better’ she asked Scotty smiled’ I love you’ he whispered still stroking her cheek. T his time Lilly didn’t shun away, from the one person who had always made her feel so safe and loved. Talking each other’s hand the two walked back to her house, quietly. Just as Lilly unlocked her front door, she kissed him again’ See you tomorrow’ He smiled just as she was about to head in he spoke their special code’ Hey’
Lilly looked up seeing him smiling at her before she closed her front door behind. That night she lay in bed missing him holding her. It wasn’t like her to want this, but since her shooting Lilly had gotten used of having Scotty lying there next to her. Picking up her cell she then dialed his number.
Back in the bullpen, he too was thinking about her but when he saw her number flash on his phone; he knew she needed him. ‘Hey’ the two said at the same time Scotty smiled a little bit’ Miss me’ ‘Yeah, but I think I’ll be alright’ she replied feeling very tired. He knew that Lilly needed some sleep’ Love you ‘just as Vera came into the room.
Lilly heard this but was glad that Scotty didn’t say her name, after all nobody knew the two were dating. Hearing the line go dead, she then got up to wash up. The next day, Lilly had to go to the hospital to get a couple of x-rays done just to make sure everything looked alright.
Scotty went with her for support which turned out to be a good thing. Now sitting in the examination room, Lilly was anxious to get back to work. She knew that justice was calling out her name, but the results were the main factor right now. The doctor then came in putting two sheets under a screen before flicking on the light.
Lilly saw what she looked like inside’ Where did I get shot exactly’ The doctor then pointed to the area’ See that, that’s where the bullet struck your bone. You’re very lucky that it didn’t puncture your lungs’
Scotty grew angry that Ed had shot her, but knew that he was dead which a very good thing was. He was glad to have killed him, for hurt his Lilly. The doctor then asked him to step out while he examined her.
Now outside Scotty, hated the smell of a hospital but quickly reminded him that Lilly was okay. She wasn’t in any pain or dying as he took a couple of cleansing breaths. Looking over he saw people coming in with all type of injuries but his main concerned was for his partner/girlfriend. Inside Lilly sat there while the doctor jotting some stuff down.
‘Everything is healing the way it’s supposed to. I see no reason why you can’t return to work’ he said. Lilly let out a small breath feeling better after the doctor had left the room. A moment later, she met Scotty outside as they walked out together. ‘What did the doctor say?’ ‘I can come back to work, everything’s healing well’ Lilly said ‘How do you feel’ Scotty asked looking into her blue eyes.
‘Fine’ was the answer he knew most. Lilly then got back into the car ‘Boss still doesn’t want me there’ Scotty started to drive’ I’ll talk to him, okay’ before he drove back to her place. On arrival, Lilly kissed him before exiting the car. He could see how well she was recovering; that thought was still evident even back in the bullpen.
Stillman called him immediately into his office where they discussed Lilly. Scotty knew that she was ready to come back, especially with a case that was heating up. After a day of interrogating and Vera annoying him to no end, Scotty chose to hang with Lilly instead of going to First Thursdays though he did need a drink.
Lilly was quite surprised when he showed up later’ thought you were going to First Thursdays’[/i
]Scotty smiled’ without you there, impossible’ kissing her lips’ I wanted to be with you’
‘Sure you did’ in a flirting voice. He then put his arms around her’ Got good news, Boss is letting you come back tomorrow to work’
Lilly felt happier, but deep down inside she was afraid to step into the observation room after what had happened. Breathing in deeply, Lilly was going to stay strong no matter what had happened. Turning around he then handed her a glass of wine, knowing she wasn’t on any more painkillers. Together they sat on the couch talking about topics other then work.
The two ended up laughing and talking to about midnight. Scotty then got up as they kissed, before he left. Lilly stood there knowing that she was in love but not in the way that she used to be. This time, she felt more confident but she was nervous about tomorrow.

Lilly awoke the next morning, ready to go to work. After dressing she headed downstairs hearing a knock at her door. Opening it Scotty stood there looking at her lovingly, before closing the door behind. Moving closer their lips met as Lilly came closer deepening their kiss. She needed this especially before going into work. It was another minute before they pulled away.
‘Ready Beautiful’ he asked seeing that smile of hers; displayed on her face. Together the two walked hand in hand, Scotty then kissed her on the cheek. Lilly turned around smiling back knowing they were both close to headquarters by now. Before going in the two stopped about a block away kissing each other, Lilly’s heart stopped pounding knowing he loved her more than anything else in the world.
‘Hey’ as the sound of Scotty’s voice brought her back into reality Lilly looked up’ I’m fine’ seeing the look of love and concern displayed on his face. Without a single word he then pulled her into his arms as she resting her head on his shoulder. Scotty gently rubbed her back knowing that she would have to face what had happened. Lilly breathed feeling comforted by him, but looking over her eyes widened seeing the little girl from her dreams standing there.
Blinking again the girl was gone; Lilly took in another breath before breaking their embrace. ‘I don’t want to be late’ she said with a smile Scotty took her hand’ Love you’ ‘Love you too’ replying knowing this was really loved.
Inside everyone welcomed her back, Lilly had to smile upon seeing a box sitting on her desk. After putting her blazer down she headed into the break room. She tried to block what had happened out, trying to shift her focus onto the case. It was hard but for Lilly justice was calling out her name. Just as she was about to pour herself a cup of coffee the little girl stood there.
Biting her lip harder, Lilly knew she wasn’t dreaming but why was the child standing there? Somehow she felt for the kid but couldn’t understand why. Lilly wanted to become a mother but knew she wasn’t ready yet, especially in light of what had recently happened to her. Was this child trying to warn her of something in the future?
Breathing again the little girl was gone, Lilly quickly poured in some sugar and milk before returning back to her desk. The day went was normal as usual but she felt somewhat different being in love this time around; especially being with someone who always made her feel safe. Even during her whole time at the hospital, Scotty was there every step of the way. Lilly knew that she couldn’t have made it without him.
Glancing over at him, he smiled back glad to see his girl back at work before heading over for a meeting. Lilly sat there reading over trying to get a better understanding while Scotty sat there bored out of his mind; not really listening to what was being said. The meeting seemed to drag on for hours as he typed a text message to her. Back at her desk Lilly saw something flashing on her phone and opened it up. ‘Hey miss you’ the message said She smiled typing something back before Stillman came out of his office. Putting her phone away Lilly got up as he stopped at her desk.
‘Glad you’re back Lil’ he said Lilly smiled’ How you feeling boss’ ‘Better, just glad we both lived’ Stillman replied touching her arm before leaving. She soon followed heading straight home wanting to be with Scotty.
Leaning against her front door, Lilly was feeling a little romantic. The kiss that they had shared earlier was something else; she felt her heart skip a couple of beats.
Crawling into bed, Lilly closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. By the next morning, Scotty was still very overtired and needing a good night sleep. He sat there groggy and miserable; seeing his favorite blonde walking in. As usual she had her coffee preparing for her first interrogation since the incident; Lilly and Stillman then walked into the room.
Lilly froze for a seconds as memories of that day flashed, she couldn’t let this get to her; not today even. Somehow memories of that day had flooded back in, her heart was thrashing loudly inside. She saw herself being wheeled out with blood coming out of her chest. Stepping backward, Lilly could hear herself yelling at Ed just seconds before it all went wrong.
Taking in a deep breath she was ready before drilling into the suspect. Outside Scotty was still feeling too tired for work but managed to finish typing up his report. An hour later, another cop was taking the murderer down to the holding cell. Lilly was in the break room when she heard the door close behind.
Turning around Scotty stood there with a bottle of water in his hand. He moved closer kissing her on the lips’ Forgot to kiss you this morning’ he grumbled. Lilly kissed his cheek’ You need sleep Scotty; it’s not going to do you any good by being here’. Scotty nodded ‘Call you later okay’ Lilly smiled watching him walk out of the bullpen. She knew it was for his own good, but saw her mother standing there before disappearing.
That night Lilly indulged herself in a bath letting her body relax. Just lying there in complete silence had calmed her down. Many different scents blossomed in the air, helping Lilly to feel calmer trying to get her mind off of her bizarre dreams. After two hours she got out putting on some comfortable pajamas before getting into bed. Drifting off to sleep, another dream came her way.
This one wasn’t a good one, lightening flashed before Lilly saw Scotty lying there bleeding profusely. Checking his pulse she knew it was too late. Crying softly, Lilly felt all alone as rested her head on his chest knowing that the man she loved was deceased. Looking up she heard the sound of the wind, turning back around both the little girl and Scotty had simply disappeared. Lilly sat there all alone in the dark woods before seeing a building.
Something was telling her not to go in it; looking back the blood was slithering around like a snake. Lilly breathed harder as a loud noise screamed through her mind.
She bolted up, breathing very heavily. Lilly could hear her heart thumping loudly, as sat there wondering what this dream was about.

Lilly began to write down everything she was dreaming about trying to pinpoint a connection but nothing was making any logical sense. Closing the book she lay back watching the clock tick away endlessly; still thinking about the dream. Even by the next month, Lilly was still puzzled especially about the little girl.
Feeling a hand gently squeezing hers, she then snapped back into reality breathing in some cool air. The aroma of food made her stomach growl a little bit as the two headed into a restaurant. Sitting down, Lilly couldn’t believe how lavishly expensive this place was; before noticing that her wine glass was full. After ordering their meals the two clinked glassed while moment gazing up into each other’s eyes.
‘Has anyone told you how beautiful you are’ Scotty said Lilly smiled’ Not really’ wanting to take off her jacket but due to the scar she felt insecure about it. To her it symbolized her weakness; that she couldn’t stop Ed herself. Breathing in deeply, she tried to focus on the here and now and enjoy being out on a date. During dinner the two joked and talked, Scotty knew that it would take time before Lilly fully recovered from this ordeal.
As the music came on, he then stood up and offered his hand. After accepting the offer, Lilly rested her head on his shoulder as they danced slowly. Closing her eyes she breathed softly feeling so safe and loved. Suddenly she saw Scotty lying there covered in blood again, Lilly then screamed seeing a knife plunge into his stomach repeatedly.
Feeling a hand gently rubbing her back, Lilly held on tightly knowing that the man she loved was still alive.
‘What’s wrong’ Scotty asked hearing her sniffling. ‘Nothing’ Lilly replied sucking down the tears, knowing that this night meant something to her. She wanted to enjoy this, before pulling back and kissing him. Scotty took her hand and twirled her around; seeing that radiant smile he loved so much. Afterwards the two lay together in bed as they listened to the rain pounding hard on her window.
Scotty watched as Lilly fell asleep, he continued to listen to her breathing softly next to him. What he didn’t know was that she was in the middle of a very bad dream that was only going to get worse. After falling asleep himself, Lilly screamed loudly gasping for breath. Blood was now coming out of her nose; but still she didn’t rouse.
Deep inside of her dreams, she was running scared away from an unknown killer. Suddenly Lilly fell into a huge body of water; as someone or something pulled her downward. She then grabbed onto a piece of rope before her mother stood there.
‘Mom, help me’ Lilly coughed’ Please’
Ellen Rush leaned closer’ you need to go back Lilly, and save him’ ‘What do you mean’ as Lilly tried to hold on knowing that she couldn’t swim. ‘Follow the light’ Ellen whispered as she disappeared as the winds kicked up a notch; before someone pulled her back underneath the water again. She tried to fight wanting to live badly. On the other side of the bed; Scotty was awoken hearing her gasp loudly for breath.
Leaning over he knew Lilly had been having these bad dreams for awhile but never to this extent. With a sudden jolt she was started coughing loudly; waking herself up. ‘It’s okay Lil’ Scotty whispered ‘Breathe’ keep a hand on her back.
Drawing in a deep breath; Lilly began to cry as he held her close. He could feel her heart beating hard against his chest knowing that whatever happened clearly scared her. Closing her eyes, Lilly knew she was safe but couldn’t help to wonder what her mother meant by this.
Just another month later; Lilly was working on the biggest case yet. Her eyes widened when knowing a certain fear that was sweeping into her bones. Remembering that her mother had said; Lilly had feeling this was somehow connected.
Chewing on her lips she suddenly got startled’ Scotty’ she said Scotty came closer’ Something wrong’Her eyes became wider; Lilly knew that the outcome of this case would decide if she would have Eternal sadness or life.

Lilly then showed him the information she had found. The two looked at each other knowing their biggest fear: of loosing each other forever. Just as she was putting down the folder on her desk, Scotty took her hand into his. It was at this point that Lilly began to feel her heart beating faster as she looked into his warm eyes.
She knew in her heart that Scotty was the one. Taking in a breath, Scotty leaned forward touching her lips with his. Lilly’s heart raced faster inside spreading warmth throughout her whole body. Suddenly another vision happened as she found herself looking down at him seeing a ton of blood spilling out. Then everything began to get quiet; Lilly could hear footsteps seeing a bloody knife peek out as Scotty yelled out in immerse pain.
After it had ended, Lilly gasped as Scotty pulled her into an embrace. Rubbing her back softly she breathed in his scent knowing it wasn’t real.
‘You okay ‘he whispered softly into her ear Lilly breathed in again ‘Don’t leave me Scotty’ ‘Never, why would I leave someone whose so beautiful like you’ kissing the top of her head
She continued to hold on; knowing that she was safe in his arms. Scotty knew that this case was having a big effect on her emotionally. What he didn’t want was her to be looking for this killer and land up dead this time.
‘Maybe you should go home Lil’ Scotty spoke softly Lilly then lifted up her head’ I’m not tired’ ‘I’ll stay here them, you need your sleep’ She smiled ‘Call me if anything comes up’
Scotty then kissed her again before Lilly heading for the door’ Hey’Turning around she smiled once more’ Love you’ ‘Love you too’ Lilly replied before heading outside for a long walk home.
Putting her hands in her black coat with the magenta lining she felt somewhat different. Even at the hospital, Scotty would sit there holding her hand even during the worst of her pain. Turning the knob, Lilly entered her house before locking the door behind not knowing that tonight was the start of the killer’s rampage.
For now she entered her bedroom looking at the scar on her chest. Lilly continued to study herself in the mirror seeing the little girl from her dreams standing there. When she turned around the child was gone; Lilly then got into bed falling fast asleep.
Around 1:30 am Scotty got the sense that he had to protect Lilly after the killer struck just four blocks away from her house. Using her spare key, he entered trying to avoid the cats; that scurried away. Walking upstairs; Scotty heard Lilly screaming as she thrashed around in bed before rousing herself breathing heavily.
‘It’s okay Lil’ he said sitting down on the bed. Lilly’s eyes opened as tears began to stream downward letting Scotty held her closer. She cried softly feel his steady heartbeat from underneath her hand. ‘Nobody’s going to hurt you, I’m promise’ kissing her cheek. Pretty soon the two were both fast asleep. By the next afternoon the two were lounging around on her bed talking; Lilly knew in her heart that she couldn’t be alone.
‘I love you Lil’ Scotty said gazing up into her blue eyes. She smiled leaning over to kiss him; Lilly knew that he wasn’t rushing their relationship but was the next step; which this time she wasn’t afraid to go. In fact she was glad her heart was with Scotty; someone that truly cared and loved her.
That very same night, he took her out dancing again before the two landed up in a park. Scotty then got down on one knee’ Will you marry me Lilly’ he asked holding a velvet box.
Lilly could feel her heart beating faster; she grew scared inside not knowing what to say. Breathing in again she responded’ Yes’ seeing a diamond ring slipping onto her finger. Getting up he captured her lips’ I’m glad I came to homicide’ seeing the look plastered on her face.
Lilly smiled glancing down at the ring on her finger; feeling so happy but anxious since both the case and the dream were still haunting her. One week later everything changed drastically; the two of them were hard at it trying to solve this case. Even for Scotty who was working the late night shift; had barely enough time for a social or even a romantic night out.
Their relationship was strained but Lilly knew it was because of the case. It was only going to get worse; by the time another month rolled around the two barely had time to speak to one another. Pretty soon it was two months; Lilly wondered if Scotty still loved her. She knew with love it never lasted long, but the ring was still sitting on her finger.
After coming home from a follow up at the doctor, Lilly’s phone rang. Heading down to the station everyone was in a frantic. Running up to Scotty who was wearing a bullet proof vest she knew that these 24 hours were going to have a big impact on their lives.
‘Hey’ she spoke trying to get his attention. Scotty turned around’ Stay here Lil’ seeing the love and concern displayed in her eyes. Lilly shook her head’ We need to solve this together’ ‘No, I can’t lose you again’ he replied as she began to walk away.
Scotty knew the past two months was hard on both of them. Walking close he took her hand’ Hey, what’s wrong’.
Lilly shook her head as Scotty saw the tears before pulling her into an embrace. After pulling away they kissed momentarily’ I love you, I just don’t want you hurt’.
She watched as Scotty got into the car and drove away, Lilly soon following knowing this wasn’t the smartest thing to be doing. Now in a safe area her eyes widened in horror as blood splashed onto the windshield before the sound of glass breaking was heard.

Lilly then heard the sound of gunshots in the distance as someone jumped off the car. Grabbing her gun she got out colliding into Stillman. He knew she shouldn’t have been here, especially after the whole hostage situation a couple of months back. Seeing how strong she was didn’t matter, Stillman couldn’t lose her forever.
While standing by a car, a hand gently rested on her abdomen knowing that this might change their relationship. She didn’t want to land up with a broken heart again; especially after the whole shooting incident. Getting the signal, Lilly was ready as she entered the dark cold woods in search for a cold blooded killer.
After hours upon searching it was soon called off, leaving the whole squad in confusion. With nothing more to do everyone went home. It was lucky for her that she had off tomorrow, which wasn’t making her happy. Now at home; Lilly let out a sigh before snuggling against the blankets. Her dreams still were anything pleasant in fact they had gotten worse.
In her dream, Lilly was back in the woods seeing someone pointing a gun at Scotty. She could feel the icy wind brushing up against her skin; and the snowflakes flying in midst air. A bullet then came flying out as Lilly tried to yell but nothing came out of her mouth. Instead she watched in horror seeing the bullet pierce through Scotty’s body.
His body the slumped downward as blood poured out onto the frozen ground. Lilly looked again the killer was gone. Leaning down she knew the man she loved was gone; the bullet had instantly killed him. Now with tears in her eyes, the little girl stood over Lilly holding out her hand. Taking the child’s hand she was led into path that was split down the middle.
Looking downward the little girl was gone, Lilly looked up seeing a blue light from up above. She felt her body hit the ground before seeing a pair of red eyes, right before she woke up.
Lilly gasped breathing heavily before drawing a hand up to her abdomen before her phone rang. ‘Hey’ a familiar voice said’ You okay’ ‘Yeah what’s up’ she said trying to calm her racing heart Scotty laughed softly’ Miss you Lil’ Lilly lay back still feeling her heart beating fast’ Love you’ hearing the same thing before hanging up.
Lilly then began to cry as negative feels flowed back into her mind. This wasn’t like her at all but maybe it was due to many things; but this had to stop. Lilly knew in her heart, Scotty truly loved her. He was there the whole time she was in the hospital and right after she had been shot.
Getting a grip fast, before glancing over at her engagement ring that was sitting on the nightstand; to Lilly this was proof that his love for her was very strong. Putting it on her felt better knowing that someone loved her. That morning she sat in bed looking over the case, even having a day off Lilly didn’t take her mind off the case for one moment. She knew the victims needed closure and justice also before her phone rang.
‘Hey, boss needs you down her now’ Lilly smiled’ Be there soon’ hearing the dial tone again. She knew it must be important as she quickly dressed. Pausing to look in the mirror again; Lilly gulped seeing the scar on her chest. Just by seeing it made her feel weak and useless but this wasn’t the morning to be feeling like this.
The phone then started to ring it was the hospital; Scotty had just been shot.
