This was excellent michelle! I loved the way you descibed Lilly as a puppet to her "unhappy past and a fear of never living up to a mother’s expectations." That was so dead on. You really captured Lilly's inner monologue so well. Very good. I can't wait to read more stories from you in the future.

Hey Michelle, Hey, girl! Great story, and very well written. Maybe it is just the optimist (or the hoping, admiring young man I am ) in me that just hates to see Lilly portrayed in a picture of such pain. And the bad part is that your story might resemble the truth for her. I guess it is just the fact that I cannot focus on this type of mentality when thinking about our girl Lil. I would just do my best every day to make her smile and be a happy girl. I'm sorry, Michelle. Just going on a little rant here, I hope you can understand, girl. But excellent work with all of your in-depth descriptions. I could really feel the pain that Lilly was, on many occasions.

Byrdman, Every woman should be so lucky to have a man like you their lives, trying to make them smile every day. I just know Lilly would never cry, silently and alone at night, if she had someone like you. :-)
TVFan and Byrdman, thank you so much for reading and commenting. That's the best part of writing (for me), is having others read and like it or, even, hate it

Oh Michelle and LII - thank you, girls! I so much appreciate your kind thoughts, they made my day! Plus the fact that they came from nice girls like you both makes your thoughts extra special. I so liked your thoughts, Michelle. Very flattering, thank you so much, girl! You girls help me to carry on my crusade! Girls are the most gorgeous creatures on the face of this Earth, and helping them to smile and be happy girls is one of the most important and special things that a guy can do! Ha! I'm really taking this conversation in a different direction, aren't I? Anyway, thanks again, girls. You're the best!

Interesting how you probed into Lilly's mind like that. I usually pay more attention to the cases. But Lilly does have a lot on her mind.

I looked up your fics as promised. And--what can I say? WOW. This story was like a punch in the gut, it hit home so hard. Sorry that's not a very poetic comment, but it's true anyway--a powerful story that lingers in your mind, not fading off like most other fanfics. It actually gave that mess of an episode some credibility. I never COULD understand Lilly's actions while I was watching it, she seemed so bizarre, so erratic, so childishly impulsive--but the way you wrote it, everything made perfect sense. I still couldn't possibly LIKE it, or find that her "change" was in any way positive (she can change, unlike her mom--yet her change includes doing EXACTLY what her mom must have done, many many times--find a man who would give her the illusion of love), but your version of it made it understandable--I could empathize. Sorry to be so self-referent, but it's not easy to turn a stubborn head like mine around. Kudos! And great command of language. It was lovely reading.

DF and REV. . .What fabulous comments to see first thing in the morning. I can't tell you how much they mean. Honestly, I'm sitting here like a sap with tears in my eyes. . . Oh, it must be just a lack of caffeine. Certainly I've not really become a sap!! Thanks so so much.

Have the newer people on the board seen this ep? It was the finale of season 3, I believe. Joseph. I still have to say, that whole ep was way out of the old Lilly's character. I miss old Lilly!!!!
I hope all the newbees on the board have seen the first two seasons. They were the BEST!
