Hello boys and girls! Hey there, it's the Byrdman coming at you on this rocking Friday! Can you feel the TGIF in the air? I know I can! I just wanted to come at you today with an idea that I have for an effort that I think needs to be organized by us fans of CC. I don't know if you all have seen my ratings thread for this season yet, but the move into the 10 PM slot, football delays, etc have not helped our ratings at all. Several sites online have our favorite show with one foot in the grave. But CBS is moving the show back into its old slot from last season, and I think that this may be an opportunity for us as fans to help save the show. I guess you could say that with all these claims that this is our last season, it got my fire up. And the season is still young, the time to make a move is now I think. I completely welcome suggestions on how to proceed with this campaign. I think we need to watch the show live, organize mass mailings to CBS again (like last year - maybe several over a lengthened period of the season), and any other ideas are certainly welcome! I guess just getting this thing rolling is the next step, but I know that we are a highly passionate fanbase, and I don't want to give up without trying at least. Any suggestions, thoughts, etc will be most welcome. Thanks for your attention and I hope to hear from you soon, boys and girls!

We can start by placing a ton of comments under videos on CBS CC website, show them that people watch them and talk about them. Also post a lot on CC community forum...bomb them with posts and new topics...copy all the stuff we write here about the show, music, cast, crew to their forum. I'm sure some of ppl here do that already but I checked recently and there ain't much activity there Mass mailing to CBS wouldn't be bad either, like Byrdman suggested Let's start now and send a letter every month...and in each letter also mention moving CC to earlier hour or even different day (I wouldn't mind watching CC during week day). We have to do something so later we can't say we didn't try. Anyone has some other suggestions?

So let's enumerate here and add to the list.
The Campaign Effort: 1. Bombard CBS site with fan request to keep Cold Case on for Season We need their form submit URL to do this from the CBS.com site. We need a drafted letter for fans to submit to be precise and to include the time change request.
2. Make comments under CBS site videos.
3. Post on CBS community.
4. Snail mail CBS/Warner Brothers. (we need the addresses posted here with the contact names)
5. Contact other web sites to join the effort: IE., French Website, Italian Website, Germany Website, TV.com, FaceBook Groups, MySpace Groups, IMDB, TNT website, Kathryn Morris Online, ETC., We need all their URLS posted here.
We can add to this list as we go with ideas. .
We need people to begin to get this information. So anyone want to take 1 of the above 5 and go research it and come back and post what you have for that respective number?
Our Organization to get the word out to our Look Again Members:
1. We need a Mass Email sent out to notify our members of this effort and to get involved. But we need to know what we are asking first.
2. We need a target date to get this rolling. It should be BEFORE the end of November. Don't you think that if the show is going to be renewed they would need to hear from us before the End of December?
3. We need to get our members, here, to liaison for their respective communities.
4. Prepare Campaign banners/Avatars. Hopefully our talented members will do so and submit. We can start a thread in Fan Art for the Banners for us to display here and maybe lend to other sites for the campaign.

Hello boys and girls! Hey there, it's the Byrdman just coming at you on this rocking Sunday! I hope that you have all had a great weekend and that you are ready to rock and roll into another rocking week! Tonight Cold Case will be aired an hour earlier - I think the best thing that Cold Case fans can do is to watch the show live in its new slot tonight (regardless of how long the football may overrun it) - it will be a good way to gauge an upswing in ratings. CBS is giving us a chance tonight! Let's make the most of it, boys and girls! I have done some research on several of Naj's suggestions and wanted to get back with you on what I found out: 1. Here is a link to the feedback form that we used last year to bombard CBS with requests. Just select Cold Case from the dropdown, and what do you think, request or comment in the radio button? I think request, but I'm eager to hear feedback. Here's a link: CBS Feedback Form Online2. Here is a link to Cold Case's CBS Site Videos: CBS Cold Case VideosI've never posted a comment underneath a video. Maybe someone has a good idea of how to. If so, could you please post here? 3. I know that you need to register on CBS Community to post there. Here is a link to do that: CBS Community Registration siteAnd here is a link to CBS' Cold Case Community to post: CBS Cold Case Community4. There is a snail mail address listed at this address for someone at CBS who we could write to - I assume it is correct, but have no way of verifying its authenticity. I got a hit on it with my Google search though, it is listed under number 4 on the Save Cold Case Site Link above. Here it is again fyi.... Save Cold Case Site - Under Number 4And here is a link to a site with several snail mail addresses listed on it. It's a Parents Council site. CBS Snail Mail ListingsHopefully we can get some listings on these international Cold Case sites to make contact with them and bring them into this effort as well. I'm a busy boy today, but I just wanted to get back with what I found in my research on this. Hopefully we can start setting some dates and getting people into the mix for making this happen. Rock on, watch Cold Case tonight, and I will be in touch soon, boys and girls!

Amen to that, ninja! So, do you guys want to begin organizing some timelines for this effort this week? It is a holiday one, but maybe that is the best time for such an effort. Let me know what you think, as this will need to be a communal effort by us all.

Just from a communications perspective, I just want to toss a couple thoughts out there:
First, what would be the goal of the effort that is being proposed? Is it to get another season of Cold Case (which isn't announced until next spring?)? Is it to ensure that we have a full 7th season? Is it to get the showing time moved? Or is it another goal entirely?
I think it's important to keep in mind that we've already mounted one "Save Cold Case" campaign using many of these same methods that are being proposed, and if we do another one again now, there's a chance that if there is a need for a 3rd campaign, we'll have already depleted the ability to get any results with an all out campaign like this. As an example: consider the "Save Jericho" campaign. After the show was canceled the first time, viewers sent in massive amounts of peanuts - it was original, and it worked the first time. The second time, not so much.
Secondly, it's also important to consider that the network just did an experimental time move to 9 PM, and the numbers were rather inconclusive. While during the first half hour numbers were up, during the second, numbers were down. This may very well have been due to an Amazing Race lead in, and a Three Rivers back end, but overall the numbers average to what Cold Case has been plugging all along. What kind of argument will be most effective when the numbers aren't really there?
Again, just some food for thought, but I think these things should be considered before we immerse ourselves in a campaign, especially around the holidays.

As far as I'm concerned, I do not know how these series renewals happen and the timing. Could CBS decide by the end of this year that Cold Case will not be renewed for an eighth season? "End of Year" meaning by December 31, 2009.
So, let's see they have moved Cold Case to the 9 pm time slot as of November 22. How many more New episodes are there this year? 3? 4?. Wont' the CBS Executives be making some preliminary decisions right now or in January about which series are on the chopping block? *I have no idea* but if they are then I'd say mount an all out campaign now rather than later. For me the campaign is for Season 8. Hasn't it already been determined that we are getting a full Season 7? I thought we were but I have not kept up with this. For me those are the questions that I would need answered.
I feel the reason CBS has already moved Three Rivers to 10 pm is that it's not producing for them so better to have it in the later time slot especially with NFL run over. I have no idea, I haven't been following Three Rivers ratings).

CC got the full season. I don't think the show will be canceled without a full 7th season unless it gets only 500,000 viweers or so.

I'm fairly certain (though don't quote me) that it's closer to up-fronts that they make the decisions, and up-fronts happen in the spring. Unless a show is doing so badly that they don't even want to show the episodes they've ordered (I don't believe that Cold Case is in that category, even with less than stellar numbers. But, stranger things have happened.) I think that CBS is starting to realize that Three Rivers isn't doing well; with the ER gap left by NBC, everyone is trying to capitalize with the next great hospital drama; some 'capitalizing' better than others. Problem is, I think the entire niche has shifted to where House and Grey's Anatomy are probably filling up the gap just fine.

Hello boys and girls! Hey there, it's the Byrdman coming at you on this rocking Sunday. I hope that you all are well and that you are having good ends to your weekends, just like me! Just to clarify some points behind the aim of this campaign - I am looking for a two-fold strategy/approach to what is planned. First goal - season 8 for Cold Case. Two - keep it in its current 9 PM slot. Of course, that could apply to the remainder of this season as well. Just wanted to clarify those points. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon, boys and girls!

Hello boys and girls! Hey there! It's the Byrdman coming at you on this rocking Tuesday evening. I hope that you all are well and that your weeks are off to good starts. Well, I wanted to let you all know where we stood on these efforts at the moment. Trublu and I were able to converse last night and we decided to coordinate an effort starting after the winter hiatus for the show. This should be in the January timeframe, but that is when we are looking to start the push. As far as a plan, we will probably iron that out as the time approaches, but I am content to go with the options that Naj posted and I furthered on with my posts after that. Please feel free to post any suggestions or thoughts that you might have on this thread. Take care, and get ready to take action as January approaches, boys and girls!

The action we take will hopefully be helped by stronger ratings once football ends. That's what helped saved it last year and if we make a strong enough push.. that with the ratings boost should hopefully keep it around for one more year.

Hello boys and girls! Hey there, it's the Byrdman coming at you on this rocking Tuesday evening! How are you all? I hope that your weeks are off to good starts! Well, I think it's about time to get this ball rolling, don't you? Let's go with the formula Naj crafted up for us on Page 1! I think it's a good idea to start filling up the video boards on the CBS.com Cold Case site with comments - this method will work for international fans too! It's free to register, so log in, fill out some comments and get those video boards going, boys and girls! We also need to organize some dates for snail and email campaigns over the coming weeks. We need to capitalize on CC's position in the 9:00 PM slot - let CBS know what you think of the show and why it needs to stay on the schedule. There is an address in the link I have in my post to Naj's schedule on page 1 for snail mail - that will carry much weight I think. If you're in the 18-49 age club, or if you are younger or older, let's ntie to get this ball rolling, boys and girls! Tune in, unite and let's get ready to rock! Any ideas, please feel free to post here.

What would also be helpful is if we could begin to compile a list of any other online sites or forums that you all know of where we can involve their members, or at least get the word out. Once we have a list going, I will personally make the rounds on behalf of this forum, so none of ya'll have to worry about that.

Hi Trublu! Hey, girl! How are you tonight? Thanks for responding, it's good to hear from you again! I'm just thinking here......Cold Case Source #1 would be a good place I think. Maybe the CBS Cold Case board? Maybe IMDB for KM or Cold Case? Those are the first ones that come to mind from me. Does anyone know of any international boards for Cold Case? Frenchfan? Colo?
